Burnout is real. As high producers, we like to push ourselves to our limits. While this is a great trait and can lead us to incredible accomplishments, it can also drive us over the edge. No matter how excited we are there are still those days when we feel no motivation whatsoever.
This is normal, for sure, and to an extent unavoidable, but those days don't have to turn into weeks, and those weeks definitely don't have to turn into months.
When we take control of our time and our energy, we can better take care of ourselves. Taking these steps will ensure we always stay focused and engaged:
✅ Figure out what is truly important
✅ Break up the day into blocks
✅ Assign these blocks to your priorities
✅ Assign your personal care blocks first
✅ Fill in the rest with work
What you will find is you can get more accomplished in less time when you are focused on quality of work over quantity. You will have more time for yourself, your family and the things that truly inspire and energize you.
It takes time to develop, and you'll probably have to adjust it often, but make no mistake, if you don't take control of your time, your work will eventually take control of you.
