I remember the exact moment, about 15 years ago. It was the first time I realized this hard truth, that I had wasted so much time and so much money, and I was never getting it back. And I definitely didn't benefit from it.
I don't remember the exact trigger, but I was probably broke and I was probably hungover, and I probably needed to change some habits.
It was probably one of the best realizations I ever made, because it set up the rest of my life on a path to pursuing my dreams. I could have decided to keep wasting money. I could have decided to keep wasting time. But after thousands and thousands of dollars and thousands and thousands of hours that were never, ever coming back to me, it was time for a change.
It was time to start looking at how I spent my time, and how I spent my money, and no longer taking for granted that any of it would still be here when/if I wake up in the morning. If I don't use it wisely today, I definitely will not have more of it tomorrow.
Do you pay attention to how you invest your time and money? Or is everything to you just an expense?
